MANGROVE
CLIMATE PROJECT
We started our Mangrove Climate Project in 2019
together with blue life, our partner for sustainability consultancy.
More than just sending seasons‘ greetings, we wanted to show our
appreciation through a concrete action. At the same time we wanted to
actively engage in climate protection.
So we decided on personalized Christmas Mangrove donations:
Registered sponsorships of Mangrove trees, individually planted for our clients and business partners.
The collective response was overwhelming – some even called it "their favorite Christmas present" of the year. Encouraged by this we have been repeating the Mangrove Christmas donation ever since.

Especially in these days of political instability in Myanmar, our independant project is in great need fordonations from outside so the next steps can be made in the most important process:
Validation and certification
of the WIF mangroves by VERRA as carbon management assets for investors worldwide until April 2026
​
By January 2025 we will have sponsored the afforestation of 1200
Mangroves in total, equalizing a CO2 compensation of 1200 tons over
15 years.
Mangrove trees not only compensate CO2 but also deliver life bearing eco system services, supporting 8 of their 17 UN sustainability development goals. This remarkable combination is the most cost-effective defense against increasing global warming.

OUR MANGROVES GROW IN THE BLUE LIFE AREA

Thor Heyerdahl park is project partner of the WIF foundation and was founded in 2012 by Dr. Arne Fjortoft.
